The Rough Draft of the First Draft of History

News?

Can someone please tell me why this isn’t news? Governor Schweitzer is on record having tried to manipulate the Senatorial election, and none of the Montana media outlets even care?

So, maybe no one did anything illegal (although can you imagine the Tribune’s response if Martz tried something like that?), shouldn’t you newspaper people, like, I don’t know, ask the Governor about it?

Gregg: They will get to that right after they finish up investigating his lawyer. :) The “reporters” for the newspapers in Montana lack a backbone, unless the MT Democrats feed them the story.

I’m not registered at that site, so I can’t ask questions there. I don’t quite understand what the governor is saying.

I guess he’s saying that things were rigged so that some tribal police or someone were hauling off GOP poll watchers or someone who were supposed to check to make sure that people were actually registered to vote? But poll watchers don’t do that. The people working at the polls do that.

So I dont understand what that’s all about. (It is pretty troubling that trial lawyers would find this stuff funny; that law officers would haul people off on false pretenses. maybe those trial lawyers need to check their consciences)

Also I don’t understand what the governor was forcing the AP to do. If Tester had the votes, does it matter whether he declared Tester the winner? I mean, it does sound like bully typical stuff for the governor. But he wasn’t changing the outcome.

I don’t know that the speech shows that he did anythiing illegal. But it does show the real BS, the one that the people of Montana rarely see. So thanks for sharing that with us.

(I didn’t watch it, but friends told me that on election night the gov was enjoying himself and kind of went into a rant about how slow some election judges were in counting ballots, and it ticked off the people he attacked.)
