The Rough Draft of the First Draft of History

And for President?

Who would you support for President right now?

I don’t know how accurate it is, but I thought this little quiz was at least interesting.

After a few of you try, I’ll let you know who it picked for me.

  1. Mike says:

Mine came back with Romney, which is not overly disappointing, but since I’m maxed out on contributions to Tancredo I might give him a look-see.

  2. GFGIRL says:

    Duncan Hunter.

  3. ZenPanda says:

Giuliani…damn, not even close to who I thought.

    GeeGuy;

Thanks for posting this link; I found it quite interesting!

Not that any of you care, but in order for you to appreciate who the quiz picked for me, I need to tell you a little about my political “persuasions”.

I have always considered my self a “fiscal conservative/social moderate”. I realize that sounds cliché (and some would even state impossible).

I believe in limited Government. I would like to see the tax cuts made permanent. I am in favor of further tax cuts.

I believe in personal responsibility. I do not feel that it is the role of a tax-payer to enable bad behavior, or subsidize poor decision-making.

Yet, I believe that stem-cell research will better humanity. I just do not believe the Federal Government should use my tax dollars to fund the work.

I believe that we should secure the borders, but I feel that we also need to provide a pathway to citizenship for the immigrants who are here, and contributing to society.

I even believe in legalized abortion. Yet as a physician, I will not perform abortions, and I certainly do not want my tax-dollars supporting the practice.

So, I took the quiz, and the results surprised me…

    32 McCain
    31 Giuliani
    24 Thompson

    12 Edwards
    7 Obama
    7 Clinton

If I had been asked to rate the candidates off-the-cuff, I would have placed Thompson first, and Edwards last! Guess I don’t have quite the grasp of the candidates’ positions as I thought..?

However, I did predict the recent Great Falls Mayor and City Commission results, so I’ve got that going for me!

Ron Paul?? I’ve gotta start paying more attention. Didn’t even know he was in the race.

  6. david says:

In order, from #1: McCain, Tancredo, Hunter, Thompson, Guiliani, Paul, Huckabee, Biden, Romney, Richardson, Obama, Edwards, Clinton, Dodd, Kucinich, Gravel.

Not too surprising, in the long view, but when other factors are considered – such as integrity, feasibility as a candidate, history, temperament, etc – my support for each candidate will not look quite like that list.

  7. big sky husker says:

Rudy. Fine with me. That’s who I’m voting for.

  8. Lizzie says:

My spouse and I took the same “test.” What was surprising, my voting record originally had been Republican and his had been Democrat. After taking the test, my spouse was Republican and mine was Democrat . Boy Howdy, are we going to pay more attention.

  9. GeeGuy says:

I’m a Romney guy. And that’s who I kind of liked anyway. I think I need to pay LESS attention!

    :)

  10. Joe Briggs says:

Hunter, McCain, Thompson were the top 3 on my quiz.

Very interesting, however, when I overlay electability and stability, I have to come down for Thompson.

  11. Gman says:

No surprise here — Ron Paul all the way!

  12. bestbuddie says:

Mine came out as a 3 way tie for Obama, Edwards & Clinton…that cleared it all up for me! LOL!

  13. Magicman says:

I pressed the magic button and Presto: Hunter, Thompson, Romney.

  14. Great Falls Guy says:

Mine came out Hunter (47), McCain & Tancredo (40 each). Very interesting with Hunter in the lead.
