Dissent
But to the degree that we brook no dissent within the Democratic Party, and demand fealty to the one, “true” progressive vision for the country, we risk the very thoughtfulness and openness to new ideas that are required to move this country forward.
Maybe your degree of dissent brooking goes up as you get closer to ‘the prize…’

gg, this is NOT the time to be Casey Jones! (if you remember who HE was) You gotta jump off this train before the wreck! Anyone still aboard the McCain train will look simple-minded after this thing goes off the track. Hell, even Lawrence Eagleburger, one of McSenile’s supporters, has in essence jumped ship with his remarks on Palin. Sometimes it’s noble to go down with one’s ship. And sometimes it’s just plain stupid. Jump! And jump now before it’s too late. You’ll be glad you did.
I am confused . Can anybody tell me what the electoral colledge is ? It seems to me that by the time they are paid ,we dont really have a choice in who joe public wants for the new pres. Please set me straight.
I see p.m. that even Ron Reagan has publicly come out for O’Bama. The only thing left undecided is control of the senate. p.s. Did anyone catch the article that pretty much confirms that Palin is an idiot? Apparently based upon her IQ tests in highschool, she was classified as dull/normal, one step above retarded. Yup, yup! She’s qualified.
Uh, Larry dude, high school is two words. Don’t you remember, it was written on the outside of the building where you used to work.
Is spelling really that important? In case you missed it, whelp, spelling means very little in English becuase it is NOT a phonetic language. Thus, American kids are terribly handicapped when it comes to learning language. Now, I think that the meaning of words is MUCH more important. Wouldn’t you agree? But there is one and ONLY one reason that spelling is important. Do you know it, little fella? Some very famous people have argued convincingly that America should adopt a phonetic system of spelling, but it never happened. Please enlighten us with what you know about languages. For you see, I only speak three, and dabble in a few others.
p.s. I use the Lewis and Clark method of spelling.
Hey small appendage guy…..it’s BECAUSE. But I digress….LOL!!
Why thank you, pigdaddy, for pionting that out. But I must tell you that I’m a terrible speller. In fact, I’m offal with a capital “O”! (and yes, I don’t expect pigdaddy to get it. he just don’t have the where-with-all, if ya know what I mean!)
I’m so happy to see that people are alive here in Great Falls, I thought that everyone was asleep. I guess I was the one who was asleep. lol This is the first time I’ve been to this site and I hope that I will return later. Spelling I don’t think is really that important, and besides I’m terrible at it. So I don’t want to realy change topic here but has anyone heard of the Security Prosperity Partnership and the Canamex Corridor that is to be ran right through Great Falls? Is this the southwest bypass that they’re trying to build?
Nah, Kevin. We’re alive here at Gregg’s site. We all moved over from the Fibune, cause it really IS dead over there. A newspaper is a terrible thing to waste. gg’s MUCH better at local news anyway.
p.s. I’ve held you all in suspense for far too long. The ONLY reason that English spelling makes ANY sense, and I think that maybe Professor Natelson might agree on this one, is that by memorizing all those annoying, unnecessary spellings, it gives one an insight into the origin of the word! That’s all. It helps verbophiles and scholars. For example, if it is said that one has a “mordant” wit, and you are familiar with the Romance languages, you can figure out the meaning since “morder” in Spanish is to bite, etc. Hence, a mordant wit is a biting wit. Back in the old, old days, students were required to take Latin, spelling made much more sense. But Latin. Ugh! Who wants to take that now? It’s a helluva lot easier to blow things up on computer games! And it makes for better cannon fodder.
