The Rough Draft of the First Draft of History

Holy Who?

I normally don’t post during the day out of respect for my partners, but this is too rich to pass up.  I was perusing the Tribune Forums last night, when I came across a post by “Holy Hal” on the animal shelter controversy. Holy Hal said “I can’t believe that the news media fell for this one.”

I thought it was a little amusing, then, when I saw Mayor Stebbins’ quote in the paper this morning: “In fact, I am a little surprised that the media fell for it.”  Sounds similar, doesn’t it?  Spin? Party line?

Then I bumbled across this at Susan Overfield’s blog:

Holy Hal – Gloria LaMott – that’s right. Holy Hal is Gloria LaMott, close friend of Donna Stebbins. ArroganceHoly Hal is Gloria LaMott – in charge of Spay of the Falls where so many cats died because she wouldn’t follow health and safety procedure. LiesHoly Hal is Gloria LaMott – whom rumor has it has had ALL postings pulled from the Tribune blog about the Shelter articles as she libeled Nora Norum and the HSCC and the Trib received a complaint, which was backed by documentation, showing that Holy Hall/Gloria LaMott lied and was openly breaking the part of the blog contract which states one agrees to not use the forum for libel. All I can say about this is; yesterday her posts were there, then they weren’t. AttacksHoly Hal is Gloria LaMott – who whenever anything is said that she doesn’t like she attacks the person via a blog (Electric City Weblog is a perfect case in point), bad-mouthing, personal denigration and public promises of destruction (HSCC, and according to sources, me). Silence…I can’t truly say I’ve ever heard Holy Hal/Gloria LaMott stay silent. Deflection…her posting at the Trib was all about the HSCC and Nora Norum and how bad they were – NOT ONE WORD OF COMPASSION OR CARE ABOUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO THE ANIMALS NOW. Just how bad others were.

So, Holy Hal is Gloria LaMott, Mayor Stebbins’ friend?  Isn’t that interesting.  We might have to do a little digging on this one, huh?

“Holy Hal’s” sophomoric posts were good for a laugh at times. They’ve lost the entertainment value now that animals are needlessly suffering.

Notice this little gem in Susan’s post?

TOWN HALL MEETING – JANUARY 5, 2007 – University of Great Falls Auditorium, 7 pm. All citizens are invited. It’s free. It will be ONLY about The Animals of Great Falls.

Likely a buddy account with Holy Hal posts made by Dona Stebbins herself.

Anonymity can either work for you, or….. not.
I suppose it all depends on which side of the bread you like to have buttered.

I don’t think that the Tribune fell for anything really. I always kind of thought that it was the job of the media to attend “organized” news conferences/events.
It wasn’t like someone walked in off the street with the news now was it?
No, it was an organized event, a news event… KRTV and KFBB were there. Am I to presume that these media outlets “fell for it” too?

It’s a news event, so let’s put our man in the field, or send out our camera crew to get this thing covered. Nevermind if it’s news worthy or not, we’ve got editors that can fix it. If it’s boring and dull, we’ve got the perfect “sound bite guy” to take care of it. We’ll squeeze a 15 second spot out of this if it kills us, (laughing) or a paragraph at least… Our advertisers are counting on us to get it done.

Attending an organized news event isn’t really falling for anything I’m afraid. These guys are just doing their job. Attending news conferences/events is kind of a requirement, in most cases, in the “news” industry.

Holy Hal- if it is fact that Hal is Gloria. The conection Holy and Gloria, kinda make me ill, Such distortion of truth and bullshit in its place.

  6. PASS THE FREAKIN’ POPCORN! Man! I’m luvin’ it! Oh, and davey, I SERIOUSLY doubt that YOU’RE the one to lecture on anynomity! You see, you’ve got some REAL problems in that reegard yourself! Have you outed anyone incorrectly today BTW???? Just wondering.

  7. Oops! Sorry, Dave. I thought you were the OTHER dave, at greaterfalls.

    Well son of a $^&&)(^^%%.
If this IS true, it seems to me that since there were all of these attacks on RNH about the true name of the poster, well I guess what goes around comes around!

  9. I followed your links back and found 9 – that’s NINE – pages of comments in the Trib Forums by Holy Hal. It was 131 comments…I was not even aware of this. With all the time spent making the comments, no wonder she doesn’t have time to follow procedures for safety and health of animals.

I was particularly pleased to see that she, across the board, attacks people. I would hate to think her vitriolic outbursts have the limited range of myself. That would become boring, I’m sure.

I’m sharing one of her finer moments, for edification and enjoyment….

Libel is libel only when it isn’t true. Bandit, you are simply the most negative, nasty, lying voice on this forum. When I post things, they are grounded in fact – and when I find out who you are, what you do, I will find something that you thought you had hidden and gotten away with, and I will have documentation that is public record. I am no “mouse,” friend, and I will spring the trap. Razz Razz Razz

WHOA — hold on there, Larry — what the heck are you talking about? I certainly blog or post comments anonymously, and I don’t recall ever “outing” anyone (correctly or not). What’s up?

  11. Your record speaks for itself, and indicts you. You wrote on you blog MANY times that I was RNH. Proof please. I rest my case. Again, have you “outed” anyone incorrectly today?

  12. GeeGuy says:

Larry, are you not Red Neck Hippie? Because while I may not have ‘outed’ anyone, I have to admit that you as RNH has been my working theory from pretty much the get-go.

  13. All4Animals says:

Bandit: I think you meant January 5, 2008, next year. I encourage you to read “Redemption” by Nathan Winograd before the meeting. If you can’t get the book in time, at least check out http://www.nathanwinograd.com and http://www.nokilladvocacycenter.org.

  14. Gee Guy, theories are like belly buttons, everyone has one. But facts, FACTS, are much more slippery characters. Sure, I share some similiarities with RNH, but unfortunately, I cannot claim that title. Actually, my own theory is that it is Bandit in disguise!……………..and I’m stickin’ to it!

  15. GeeGuy says:

Well, Larry, I am going to take you at your word. If you were RNH, though, you would owe David an apology.

  16. Well, no, actually I think that it’s DAVE who owes me an apology. For you see, NOWHERE is there any admition on my part as to whether or not I am RNH. You see, OTHER people simply made that assumption without any evidence. (other than circumstantial) And what dave did was to simply attempt to hurt me based upon that assumption. Rather than arguing the merits of an RNH argument, Dave decided to attack me personally. Now, I’m not British, but if I were I’d say that that’s not cricket! And besides, if a person wants to post anonymously, why can’t they? I don’t get it.

  17. p.s. And, Gee Guy, in the interest of full disclosure, I must add that I did NOT say that I was not RNH. I said simply that I cannot “claim that title”. Now, interpret how you will.

  18. wolfpack says:

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Right up there with”It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is”.

  19. Close!, but no cigar. Ooops! That didn’t sound quite right.

  20. GeeGuy says:

The whole “circumstantial evidence” thing is a bit silly. It is possible to convict on circumstantial evidence alone.

  21. Bandit says:

I’ll only put the head in, I promise.

I’ m RNH, No I’m Holy Hal in drag, No I’m Jim Morrison, No I’m Elvis, No the mad vandal,….I’m your worst nightmare.

I’m not following the dave/larry thing – however I am deeply concerned with the HSCC & holy hal etall. I wish that Larry/Dave could go off on their own little blog and blast each other and not keep diverting the focus away from a very important topic . . to me.
I don’t know either one of you, online or offline and I do not mean any offence, it would just be nice to keep to the topic at hand.
